Dwayne Johnson: Started his preparations for Black Adam’s role
The star of ‘Fighting With My Family, Hobbs & Shaw and Jumanji: The Next Level,’ is coming off of a huge 2019. The actor has long been tapped to be achieving a higher position in the world of comic book adaptions.
Johnson has confirmed that he has started his new year by preparing to shoot Black Adam.
The Rock announced on Instagram that he has started training for the Black Adam’s role ahead of the film going into production this summer. He joked that the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change, signaling a new era in the franchise’s history.
He has also stated the animators BossLogic and Veli Okulan, who are the makers of the video he shared with his followers. It shows Black Adam floating amidst rubble before yelling “Shazam” and racing into the skies. That’s amazing! The animation features the releases date (December 22, 2021) of Black Adam, about 2 years from now.
Jaume Collet-Serra will be directing this movie, who recently directed Non-stop, The Shallows a this summer’s Disney movie – which also stars The Rock – Jungle Cruise. Lawrence Sher – cinematographer of the blockbuster movie ‘Joker’ – was hired by the production. He also talked about continuing to reshape what a comic book movie and doing something creative with the content.
Black Adam is a famous supervillain who is the nemesis of Shazam and his superpowered family. In previous years, he has been redefined in comic books as an antihero who is trying to be escaped. Jhonson has also teased the legendary superhero team will appear in the movie, after having the time spent with the Justice Society of America (JSA) in the comics.
It’s also known that the release of Shazam 2 will be on April 1, 2022 – just after 3 months of Black Adam’s release. It is anticipated that both the characters will face each other on the silver screen, but it is not confirmed if Jhonson’s character will be in Shazam 2 or not.
