Officers arrested – George Floyd’s case – 2020
The death of George Floyd has brought huge trouble for the four officers who arrested him. Even though the police officer who kneeled on Floyd’s neck has got multiple charges but now rest of the three officers are in trouble too.
The three officers excluding Derek were Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng. The charges on the three officers are that they encouraged the second-degree murder and encouraged second-degree manslaughter. The three officers were taking the situation very lightly even when George Floyd was saying that he wasn’t able to breathe. Further investigations would be done which will involve interrogations with these three police officers because there are some sources which are stating that it was a preplanned act. All the three officers were fired by Minneapolis Police. The chief of that police station Medaria Arradondo was aggravated over the actions done by these officers and hence took strict action against them.
All three officers would have to pay 1 million dollars for bail. 1 million dollars is not easy money to arrange for a young police officer. So it is quite obvious that the officers might spend more than 10 – 20 years in prison.
